How many IT professionals go with the notion of " No ones every gotten fired for buying an HP ". I have somthing that might surprise some people but Ricoh has taken the award for printer line of the year away from HP.

Presented once each year, BLI’s “Outstanding Printer Line of the Year” award recognizes the vendor whose product line has proven to be the best. The selection is made by BLI’s highly experienced staff of test technicians and editors after subjecting scores of office printers of all types (from monochrome and color personal printers to large workgroup models) from every major vendor to BLI’s unique battery of laboratory tests. Among the many factors considered by BLI in selecting a “Line of the Year” recipient are the reliability, overall economy, print quality, ease of use, productivity and administrative utilities offered by the models in its line.

In commenting on Ricoh’s line, BLI Senior Printer Analyst Marlene Orr noted, “Ricoh offers printers in every segment of the market, from small workgroup to departmental printers, designed to meet the diverse needs of business users. It has taken top honors for its color printers two years running and, now, after submitting its line of monochrome printers to BLI testing, Ricoh has proven to be the clear choice for this honor, as its products have received more Highly Recommended ratings and ‘Picks’ than any other vendor. In fact, BLI tested eight single-function printers from Ricoh, ranging from small workgroup to departmental offerings, including GelSprinter ink-based products and color and monochrome laser printers and seven earned Highly Recommended ratings, while five garnered Pick awards.”

I currently have 5 on my network and they live up to this award. I had never heard of Ricoh before and was told that the reason is because Ricoh does not run many ad campaigns, instead they invest that money back into the independent dealerships and reserch. The printers on my network installed in a snap.

Ricoh CL5000 A3/A4 full colour duplexing laser printer

G. He is the funniest man I know and always tells you whets on his mind in a very thought provoking funny way. Quotes like "You know there is a problem with the education system when you realize that out of the 3 R's only one begins with an R” make me laugh and think at the same time. Miller will be hosting a new show called Amnesia. The game goes like this: Miller asks you questions from your own life to see how much you know about yourself, and if you do you win, I have no idea, but I'm guessing fabulous prizes and/or money. "It's a comedy first that just happens to be wrapped in a game show package, and that allows me to be who I am," he said.

I'd like to be a contestant on this show. I feel like I could do very go at it. I do have that problem with names though. The commercial I saw was a guy trying to guess what his wife's wedding dress looked like. Who could honestly do that?

"Amnesia" is the second hosting gig Miller has lined up in the past month. I was pleasantly surprised at an article I found on TechCrunch while looking for this summer internship. This article says that last year, salaries of up to $70,000 were common for the best students. This year, Facebook is said to be offering $92,000, and Google has increased some offers to $95,000 to get their share of graduates. Students with a Masters degree in Computer Science are being offered as much as $130,000 for associate product manager jobs at Google. This is great for all of us that are in this profession. I do not understand why everyone thinks that all the jobs are going overseas. While there are many jobs that overseas, jobs in this profession a there for to be filled. It is more competitive and competition only makes you better or should make you better. The salary does vary greatly due to company, location, industry, experience and benefits. It just goes back to what my father always said to me "Find something you have passion for and make a career in that and you shall be successful". What do you think about the computer industry job outlook? I like to hear from the seasoned veterans out there.

G. I have many times and so I did a little research and look what I found out. I did a search on who plays video games and was directed to the ESA. A few facts are Sixty-nine percent of American heads of households play computer and video games. Ninety-three percent of people who make the actual purchase of computer games and 83% of people who make the actual purchase of video games are 18 years of age or older. The average age of the game buyer is 40 years old. Adult gamers have been playing an average of 12 years. Among most frequent gamers, adult males average 10 years for game playing, females for 8 years. Fifty-three percent of game players expect to be playing as much or more ten years from now than they do today. The computer gamers are thirty percent of most frequent game players are under eighteen years old. Twenty-six percent of most frequent game players are between 18 and 35 years old. Forty-four percent of most frequent game players are over 35 years old. The console gamers are forty percent of most frequent game players are under eighteen years old. Thirty-five percent of most frequent game players are between 18 and 35 years old. Twenty-five percent of most frequent game players are over 35 years old. So next time someone tells you that video games are for kids give them some these facts. Also tell them there is big money involved with video games. I have been looking for a more portable laptop for several months and the Air grabbed my consideration. Did pulling this laptop out of a manila folder get your attention like it did mine? There are a few things I do not like though is the limited ports, no ExpressCard or card-reader option and the battery is not user upgradable. These are things I believe will be easy to work around and that is why I went ahead and pre-ordered the Air . The price was right for my budget and since I carry my computer everywhere this will take the load off my shoulder. Once I receive the Air i will report on the functionality of it and how much of a load it took off. This was a real motivator. I plan on designing software and owning my own business and this little scale gives me an idea what my services are worth. Computer software engineers are one of the occupations projected to grow the fastest and add the most new jobs over the 2008-16 decade. Excellent job prospects are expected for applicants with at least bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or computer science and with practical work experience. The myth about all the tech jobs moving away from the States is just that, a myth. Students choosing computer science as a major have a great outlook. I am excited to receive my Degree and get started in this journey.

Median Salary by Years Experience - Degree: Bachelor of Science (BS/BSc/SB), Computer Science (CS) (United States)
Compare your salary: Get a free Salary Report

G. Upon a visit with some close friends we dined at this newcomer to the neighborhood. First, let me start by saying the atmosphere was phenomenal! Although I was in Cleveland it certainly felt like New York! The three of us decided upon three opening appetizers to share. We chose the Crab Gnocchi, Heirloom Tomato Salad and Heritage Farms Fresh Bacon. If you are wondering why we ordered bacon then wonder no more! It is comprised of asparagus, truffle and poached egg. All three were simply a feast for the taste buds. For our main courses I ordered the Roasted Duck while my friends dined on the Venison and Salmon. The duck was prepared perfectly. Quite possibly the best duck I have had thus far. One is not to forget dessert, however! Once again, we chose three items from the menu and shared each. The “6 a.m. Special” was by far the most intriguing of the three. French toast was covered with maple-bacon ice cream and then topped with caramelized apples. Absolutely delicious! The Warm Chocolate Cake was nowhere near ordinary either! We complemented our meal with a bottle of the house Reisling. In all, this is an excellent compliment to Cleveland. I would definitely recommend not only visiting this trendy area but also Lola’s. Chef Michael Symon is a renowned chef, not only appearing as a challenger but winning on The Next Iron Chef America . It aims to increase the speed and ease with which database-driven web sites can be created, and offers skeleton code frameworks scaffolding from the outset. Often shortened to Rails, or RoR, Ruby on Rails is an open source project written in the Ruby programming language, and applications using the Rails framework are developed using the Model-View-Controller design paradigm. Will it help me get through school any faster? Probably not. Will I learn anything from it? Possibly, because I plan on asking computer science questions and maybe I will get a response from someone. When I think of how big the world wide web has become the voice inside my head tells me getting a response on here is like trying to scream at a rock concert and everyone hear you. I have always enjoyed the world of technology and have to decided to make a career out of it. I have tried to learn somethings on my own but as I am reading about one thing something else comes along and gets me all off the first subject. It is just over whelming so I am thinking a controlled environment will keep me on track. So follow me as I go through the world of a computer science major. If you are and expert help me out if you are a student yourself maybe this will help in someway.

G.
